You surgeon or doctor would be able to explain the advantages and disadvantage of each method and help you decide on a method that would be apt for the type of mole you are having.
It’s important to remember the type and intensity of the scars, that will be the result of the procedure before decinding the one that is right. Few methods are more painful over the others and leave you with huge scar post treatment.
Excision method with Stitches
This skin mole removal method involves cutting deep into the skin to remove any tissue related to the mole for removal, after which the area is stiched to avoid bleeding. This method is ideal when the moles are considered dangerous for e.g cancer or when it’s on a flat surface.
Excision with Cauterization
Like excision with stitches, this removes the mole by cutting it to full depth and then burning the area with a cautery tool to burn-suture it. While burning the location of the mole avoids bleeding, stitching is not needed as well. This method often leaves the users dissatisfied, as this method leaves scars and also the smell of burnt skin is irritating to the nose.
Remove Your Moles With Laser
The latest technology, which uses laser to remove the mole. This method involves evaporation of the concerned tissues through laser, sans cutting or stitching which is welcomed. However this method is not advocated for deep seated moles, due to the inability of the laser to penetrate deep and remove the mole thoroughly.
Freeze Your Moles
This procedure is advocated only for the moles that are protruding. The first step is to numb the area of the mole by applying anesthetic. When the ares is completely numb, the doctor with the use of a scalpel removes the protruding portion of the mole evening it with skin level. This may leave a mark of either white skin tissue, or the color the mole was.
After the mole removal process, proper care should always be taken in order to avoid any infection that would occur on the wound.
